Skylanders have become one of the most popular figures in childrens video games in a matter of a few months. Released in October 2011, the ground breaking video game Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure did something that no other games developer has ever achieved: they successfully created a system, where real life toys can interact directly with a video game.

The story behind this original concept is that the Skylanders have, for thousands of years, guarded the Skylands, a magical world of floating islands. Now, an evil tyrant called Master Eon has succeeded in freezing all the Skylanders, and has banished them to Earth. This explains why all these Skylanders Characters are here! However, players of the game, can place their Skylanders Figures onto a Portal of Power, which miraculously brings them back to life in the Skylands, in order to save their world.

The magical Portal of Power is the interface between the real world and the video game one. As soon as a Skylanders Character is placed on this portal, it is transformed into the video game. In order to play Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure, you need a starter pack, containing the video game, a Portal of Power and Skylanders Figures.

 What Do I Need To Play Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure?

In order to Play Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure you need a Starter Pack. Starter packs for this awesome video game have been produced for the XBox 360, Wii, PlayStation 3, 3DS and PC. The Starter packs contains everything you need to begin Spyro’s Adventure!

The pack contains the video game itself, a Portal Of Power, 3 Skylanders figures, stickers, web code and a poster. For Wii, Play Station 3, Xbox and PC the three figures are Spyro, Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy. For the 3DS, instead of regular Spyro, there is an exclusive Dark Spyro Character.

    I purchased a skylander giants starter pack with out the portal for the xbox connect, as my grandson was with me and said he already had one. The one he had , though , was for the wii. and does not work with the giants for the xbox. Is there any where to purchase this portal only?. They must break sometimes and need a replacement. I spent 59.99 for this set at Target-I would have paid the 74.99 fo the complete set if I had known. I sure hate to do that now after paying the 59.99. Please respond-he is so disapponted. thankyou.

      I would take it back to the store and explain the situation, and ask if they can exchange it for a Wii version.
