The Gold Skylanders Figures are some of the most highly sought after Skylanders toys out there. Gold Skylanders first appeared in the original Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure video game. The original gold figures were distributed at random, and appeared on stores shelves next to the regular versions. These gold Skylanders were only produced in limited quantities, and so became highly collectable. As soon as any appeared on store shelves they were snapped up immediately. Before long these gold figures began appearing on sites such as Amazon and eBay for very high prices. It is important to understand that even though these gold figures look pretty awesome and very different to the regular figures, they look exactly the same in the video game itself, and have the same stats.

Series 1 Gold Skylanders

These are the gold Skylanders figures from the first Skylanders game. There are three of them in all: Drill Sergeant, Chop Chop and Flameslinger.

Gold Chop Chop

Gold Chop Chop is probably one of gold figures, most in demand. The gold Chop Chop figure is pretty awesome. Chop Chop is an undead figure, who is some sort of warrior Skeleton. He wears an ornate helmet and carries a big sword and shield. The gold version on Chop Chop is entirely painted gold, even the base of the figure. The only colored part of Gold Chop Chop is the green plastic on the bottom of the base. Prices for Gold Chop Chop are very high. we have seen him selling on sites such as Amazon for more than $200!

Gold Drill Sergeant

Gold Drill Sergeant is exactly the same as a regular series 1 Drill Sergeant, but painted gold. This figure, really suits the gold make-over as Drill Sergeant is a tech Skylanders and is supposed to be made out of metal anyway. He does look pretty awesome, and again fetches quite high prices on Amazon.

Gold Flameslinger

Gold Flameslinger is another pretty cool figure. The Flameslinger character is supposed to be an Elven archer, who fires flaming arrows. He really suits being gold, and in the same way as Drill Sergeant and Chop Chop, the entire figure and base is painted gold, the only color being the green plastic on the bottom of the base.

Series 2 Gold Skylanders

There is only one gold Skylander that has been released for general sale in the Skylanders Giants Game. This is Series 2 Gold Flameslinger. There is one other gold Skylander on the giants game, and this is gold Prism Break. This figure however was designed as a holiday gift to Toy’s For Bob employees.

Gold Flameslinger

This version of Gold Flameslinger is much more common that the original one. The Series 2 Gold Flameslinger has been released as an Amazon exclusive. This figure is much more reasonably priced as a result! You can easily tell the difference between a series 1 and series 2 Flameslinger. The Series 2 Flameslinger has an orange base rather than a gold one, and the plastic at the bottom of the base is orange rather than green. The Series 2 figures also has a slightly different pose, and is firing three burning arrows rather than 1.

Gold Prism Break

This figure is probably my favorite of all the Skylanders figures out there, but unfortunately I don’t think I could ever afford one! Gold Prism Break is basically a Lightcore Prism Break figure, that has been specially decorated in a festive way. Since it is a lightcore figure, it glows on the portal of power, and Prism break has two giant crystals at the end of his arms that glow bright green. The figure itself is completely gold, apart from a white flocked effect on the top of his head, on his arms and on the figures base. It is soooooo Cool!!!!!

The figure was created as an exclusive employee edition for the 2012 Holiday Season. It was only made in tiny quantities, and so has quickly become a collectors item. I have seem this rare figure listed on eBay for more that $800 eek!

Gold Prism Break was never manufactured to go on sale. This very special Skylander was produced especially for Toy’s For Bob Employees, the people who designed Skylanders Giants. Gold Prism Break is an exclusive Employee Edition for the 2012 Holiday Season. As you can imagine, only a very small number of these toys were produced, and so the demand for this rare Skylanders figure is off the scale!

The Gold Prism Break Figure

The figure is exactly the same as same as a Lightcore Prism Break, but painted in a festive way. Lightcore Prism Break lights up when placed on or near the Portal of Power. The two huge crystals as the end of his arms glow a bright green color. This is a really cool effect on a regular Prism Break, but on a Gold Prism Break it looks even more awesome! The entire figure is colored in gold paint, and to add to the Holiday spirit, the toy is also decorated with a white flocked material, on the top of Prism Break’s head, arms and base, to look like snow. I have got to say this is probably one of the best Skylanders figures out there, but unfortunately it has one of the highest price tags.

Other Skylanders that were manufactured just to be given away, rather that to go on sale are also in great demand. The rest of these figures were produced to be given out at toy fairs, rather than to Toy’s For Bob employees. Gold Flameslinger is the only Skylanders figure that has two different versions. There was an original Gold toy produced for the original Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure game, and then a second one designed for the Skylanders Giants game. Figure from the original game are called Series 1 figures, whilst characters that were reposed and released for the Giants sequel are known as Series 2 figures. Therefore there are both Series 1 and 2 Gold Flameslinger toys.

Series 1 Gold Flameslinger

This toy is exactly the same as the Flameslinger figure from Spyro’s Adventure, but painted gold. Flameslinger is an elven archer, who must be a pretty confident shot, as he wears a blindfold! This character belongs to the Fire Element group of Skylanders, that use the power of fire to destroy enemies. Flameslinger as his name suggests shoots flaming arrows. The gold figure is entirely covered in gold paint, even the base of the toy. In fact the only colored part of the toy is the green plastic at the bottom of the base. The Gold Flameslinger figure does look pretty cool, but is important to understand that the character looks exactly the same as a regular Flameslinger in the video game, and his stats are the same too.

The Series 1  toy appeared on store shelves at random next to the regular toys, but only a limited number were ever produced. Most of those appearing in stores were bought up very quickly. Within a short amount of time, this elusive figure began appearing on sites such as Amazon and eBay for very high prices. There is still a demand for Series 1 Gold Flameslinger figure today, and prices continue to be inflated.

Series 2 Gold Flameslinger

This version of Flameslinger is exactly the same as the Series 2 toy produced for the Skylanders Giants game. You can immediately see that this figure has a different pose from the original, and shoots three burning arrows rather that one. In this version, it is only the figure itself that is gold, and the base of the toy is covered in red/orange flames, as you would expect for a Fire Element figure. The plastic at the bottom of the base is orange in Series 2 figures.

Golden Flameslinger Series 2 was produced as an Amazon exclusive, and has been available since Skylanders Giants launched in Fall 2012. This figure is far more common that the original gold Series 1 figure, and so thankfully is much less expensive. However, I think it looks just as awesome! In the same way as the series 1 figure, Series 2 Gold Flameslinger looks exactly the same as the regular version in the video game itself.

Skylanders Gold Drill Sergeant is probably one of the rarest Skylanders out there. He really does look a pretty awesome figure, and I can understand why people would want him in the their collection. However, if you want a Gold Drill Sergeant be prepared to more that the regular price for him! Gold Drill Sergeant was produced for the original Skylanders game called Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. These original Skylanders are called Series 1 Skylanders. However, all Series 1 Skylanders will play in the second game called Skylanders Giants, so if you own a Gold Chop Chop figure you can play it in both games.

Gold Drill Sergeant was only produced in limited numbers, and was found on store shelves alongside regular Drill Sergeant figures. There are three gold series 1 figures in all: Drill Sergeant, Chop Chop and Flameslinger and all were snapped up pretty quickly, and started appearing on sites such as Amazon and Ebay for much higher prices.

I have seen Gold Drill Sergeant on Amazon for more that $150, and Gold Chop Chop for more that $200. The only gold figure that sells for much closer to its regular price is a Gold Flameslinger that was produced for the Skylanders Giants game (known as a Series 2 figure) . A lot more of these have been produced, and it is sold as an Amazon exclusive.

The Gold Drill Sergeant Figure

Gold Drill Sergeant is basically the same as a regular Series 1 Drill Sergeant, but painted with gold paint. The whole of the figure is gold, including the base. In fact the only color other than gold on this figure is the green plastic at the bottom of the base. The figure does look really awesome and I can see why people would want a Gold Drill Sergeant in their collection. However, it is important to understand that although this special gold figure looks very different to a regular Drill Sergeant, it looks exactly the same in the video game itself.

Drill Sergeant is a Tech Skylander, and this group of figures use the power of technology to destroy enemies. Drill Sergeant himself is supposed to be some sort of ancient robot, and so he really suits being colored gold, as he is supposed to be made of metal anyway.

The Skylanders Gold Chop Chop figure is one of the rarest Skylanders toys out there. Gold Chop Chop was designed for the first Skylanders game called Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. There were three gold toys produced in all: Chop Chop, Flameslinger and Drill Sergeant. Only one other gold figure has been produced for the Skylanders Giants video game and this is Series 2 Gold Flameslinger.

Gold Chop Chop is exactly the same figure as the Series 1 Chop Chop figure, except painted in gold paint. Series 1 refers to all those figure produced for the Spyro’s Adventure game. The Gold Chop Chop toy is extremely rare for two main reasons. Firstly it looks awesome, and secondly only a limited number were ever manufactured. The gold Skylanders from the first game, were found randomly on shop shelves next to the regular versions of the toys. Some were packaged as single character packs, while others were part of triple packs, alongside two other regular figures. Most of these regularly priced Gold Chop Chop toys were snapped up immediately and many began appearing on sites like Amazon and eBay for ridiculous prices. Such is the demand for Gold Chop Chop, figure often sell for over $200. The only gold figure that does sell for nearer the original price is the Series 2 Flameslinger, as it was an Amazon exclusive, and many more were produced. It isn’t that rare, and so doesn’t command such high prices.

It is important to know that although Gold Chop Chop looks awesome, and very different to the regular Chop Chop figure, it looks exactly the same in the video game. All the gold and silver toys play like the regular Skylanders figures in the video game. All of the series 1 figures including Chop Chop will play in both the Spyro’s Advenure and Giants video games.

Also, you should not confuse Gold Chop Chop with Legendary Chop Chop. Legendary Chop Chop, has gold paint, but is not entirely gold. Legendary figures do look different in the video game.

Skylanders Pearl Sparkle Sonic Boom is one of three recently released figures that have the same exclusive paint work. The Pearl Sparkle figures are Sonic Boom, the Giant, Hot Head and Sprocket. All of these figures are found randomly on store shelves next to their regular versions, and only a limited number of these special figures have been produced. Consequently, any that do appear regularly priced are snapped up immediately, and many are appearing on eBay and Amazon at highly inflated prices. Such is the demand for these figures, I have seen Pearl Hot Head advertised of upwards of $250 on Amazon!

Pearl Sparkle Sonic Boom is essentially the same figures as a Series 2 Sonic Boom. Sonic Boom was first introduced in the Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure video game, and these figures are known as Series 1 toys. Sonic Boom was then reposed and released in the Skylanders Giants game, and this figure is known as a Series 2 figure. Sonic Boom is a female Air Element Skylander who is a Griffin. The story goes that she trained her baby Griffins to fight as Skylanders too! The Series 2 Sonic Boom figure also features one of the baby Griffins too.

Pearl Sparkle Sonic Boom looks awesome. The paint used in this figure is a sort of metallic white, which gives the pearl effect, and then has glittery bits in it too. This figure really does look cool, and I can understand why people who love to collect the Skylanders  figure would want to have her. However, it is important to remember that even thought this figure looks very different to the regular one, it still looks like an ordinary Sonic Boom in the video game.

Skylanders Blue Metallic Chop Chop is the newest and rarest Skylander out there. This elusive Skylander is not for sale in stores, and was given away at to a luck few at the 2013 New York Toy Fair. As soon as the event was over, Skylanders Metallic Blue Chop Chop figures started appearing on  Ebay for very high prices! I have seen them priced as high as $400.

Chop Chop is an Undead Skylanders figure. We first saw Chop Chop in the original Skylanders game, called Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. When Skylanders Giants was released, Chop Chop was reposed, and this second figure is known as a Series 2 Chop Chop. Metallic Blue Chop Chop is a Series 2 Chop Chop painted a fantastic metallic turquoise color. The whole of the figure is metallic blue apart from his large yellow eyes.

Although Skylanders Metallic Blue Chop Chop looks very different to the regular Chop Chop, they appear exactly the same in the video game itself.

Skylanders Pearl Sprocket is definitely one of the rarest of all Skylanders Giants figures. Pearl Sprocket is an elusive figure that pops up randomly in stores, and is snapped up immediately. Due to the scarcity of these figures, occasionally they appear on Amazon and Ebay, often selling for more that $100. Keep your eyes peeled, if you see one of these figures in a store regularly priced it’s probably worth buying it!

Sprocket is a Tech Skylander figure that was new to Skylanders Giants, and Skylanders Pearl Sprocket is really the same figure, just painted a different color. The Pearl version of Sprocket is painted a metallic white color, which gives the pearl effect, but also has some specks of glitter, to add to the effect! Although the Pearl Sprocket figure looks very different ot regular Sprocket, she will look exactly the same in the video game itself.

Skylanders Pearl Hot Head is an extremely rare Skylanders figure. Not many have been seen out in stores, and we are not actually sure how many of these elusive figure have actually been produced. Skylanders Pearl Hot Head was not produced to be packaged in an exclusive bundle, and is not a store exclusive. This figure just appears from time to time, randomly in stores and gets snapped up very quickly!

Due to the figures rarity, Skylanders Pearl Hot Head is in great demand. Figures can be sold on Ebay or Amazon for more than $300!!!! I would certainly buy any that I saw regularly priced in stores.

The Rare Skylanders Pearl Hot Head is essentially the same figure as the regular Hot Head, but is a different color. Pearl Hot Head is painted a white metallic color to give a Pearl appearance, and also has some glitter sparkles to add to the effect. Since Pearl Hot Head is a Skylanders Giant, the figure has lightcore technology. Lightcore technology means that the figure lights up when placed on or near the Portal of Power. When you put Skylanders Pearl Hot Head on the portal the flame on top of his head glows pale blue. This is different from the regular Head, whose flame glows orange.

It is important to remember that although the Pearl Hot Head figure looks very different to the regular Hot Head, it will look exactly the same in the video game itself.

Skylanders Crystal Stealth Elf is probably one of the rarest Skylanders figures out there. We don’t actually know how many of these figures were produced by Activision, but they are highly sought after by Skylanders collectors. This of course means that these elusive Skylanders figures can fetch a high price on sites such as Ebay or Amazon.

Skylanders Crystal Stealth Elf is essentially the same figure as the Series 1 Stealth Elf figure, but made from a clear plastic material. This gives the figure a crystal-like appearance. Series 1 figures are the Skylanders figures made for the first Skylanders game, called Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure. However, all Series 1 figures will play in the Giants game, so you can play Crystal Stealth Elf in Skylanders Giants.

It is important to remember that even though the Skylanders Crystal Stealth Elf figure looks very different to Steath Elf, they look exactly the same in the video game itself.

Unlike Crystal Wham Shell and Crystal Cynder, that were packaged in exclusive Skylanders bundles for GameStop, Crystal Stealth Elf just randomly appeared on shelves either in a single pack, or as a triple pack with Sonic Boom and Wrecking Ball.
