skylanders-giants.com came about because I enjoy designing websites, and my 9 year old son loves video games. In December 2011 we bought my son Skylanders: Spiro’s Adventure for the Xbox on the recommedation of a friend, who’s son also loves gaming. When I tried to research the game, I initally found it confusing, was it a toy? a video game? how did the two interact? and this was part of the reason I thought a clear and concise Skylanders website might be a good idea!
Immediately my son loved Skylanders, I think for him it was that feeling that his toy actually became part of the video game, when placed on the Portal of Power, as well as the lovely graphics and great game play. Unfortunately it was not until after Christmas that we tried to buy some more Skylanders to add to our collection, and at the time of writing this blog, non of the major stores in our area have the characters. Only Amazon and Ebay seem to have any stock at the moment and due to high demand prices have increased quite considerably!
Our first website was skylanders-characters.com . This website is a complete guide to all the different Skylanders characters, adventure packs and starter packs available in Skylanders:Spyro’s Adventure. All of the characters in Skylanders:Spyro’s Adventure can be used in Skylanders Giants.
In February 2012, it was announced at the New York Toy Fair, that a second Skylanders Game, Skylanders Giants will be released in Fall 2012. From press and internet blogs, I tried to piece together as much information as possible on the new game and any new characters. The website is a work in progress and will be updated as and when new information is released.

I have just pre ordered a Skylander Giants Starter Pack from Amazon for xbox360 for my grandson, this is his first game, will he be able to access all the video games, or do I need to also order the Skylander Spiros adventure starter pack ?
The Starter Pack for Skylnaders Giants is all you need to play the Skylanders Giants game. The Spyro’s Adventure starter pack is for a different video game, and you don’t need to have it to play the Giants Game.

ive just bought the giant skylander crusher for my son, he has all the smaller 1s but the giant 1 wont work on his portal he is really disapointed. we cant work out why?
The Giant Crusher is designed to be played on the new Skylanders Giants video game. You can use your old portal of power, but you need the video game itself. Are you trying to use Crusher with the old Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure game? If Crusher is not working in the new Giants game, I would take it back to the store.
Why does the lights in the giants stop working
As I understand it, the lights should stay on the giants figures for as long as they are on the Portal of Power. Once you move them away the lights go off.
I bought 2 Skylander giants and my son says he cannot get past level 10. Do we need the new portal to get past level 10?
We have the Xbox 360 there are two USB spots on back. Can you use two portals with the giant skylanders game at the same time, for 4 players?
My son has the old Skylanders system, can he play the new Skylander Giants on this system or do I need to buy him the new system?
You need the Skylanders Giants video game to play Skylanders Giants. The cheapest way to do this is buy the Booster pack, that just contains the game, and Tree Rex. You can use your portal from the Spyro Skylandesr game.
